教材分析
本单元的核心话题为obeying the traffic rules。通过学习要学生了解常见的交通标志，并且要让学生了解遵守交通法规的重要性。同时也进一步巩固所学的语法知识——比较级和最高级。

教学思路
本单元主要的任务就是要让学生学会运用习得的语言知识学习相关的交通法规。学习并巩固本单元的知识点。在教学过程中，倡导自主、合作、探究的学习方式，激发兴趣，调动思维，培养创新能力。采用视听法、问答法和情景交际法。对教材的处理上，本着以“旧”代“新”、以“练”促“学”、以“熟”生“巧”的原则，通过听故事朗读、进行知识竞赛、对话，提高口语表达能力，且通过学习使同学们对交通法规有所了解，并意识到遵守交通法规的重要性。
教学手段
1．视听法。主要通过多媒体课件展示、图片展示、老师提问、学生回答等方式提供让学生看、听、说的练习机会。
2．答法和情景交际法。用多媒体展示各种图片，让学生利用这些图片进行交流，让学生在做中学，在实践中获得信息，习得英语。
