专业培养目标:本专业培养国家需要的德智体全面发展的地质学研究型人才。毕业生具有较全面的地质学基础理论、坚实的数理基础,较好的外语实用技能,较强的创新意识和科学素养。80%以上毕业生将继续攻读硕士或硕-博连读研究生。大多数毕业生能成为科研机构、高等院校从事基础地质研究的专门人才,同时也可满足21世纪地球科学发展和国家在资源、环境、灾害、国土规划以及国民经济其他相关领域对地质学人才的需要。

专业毕业要求

1.本专业毕业生具有扎实的数学、物理学、化学、地球科学和环境科学的基础理论知识;掌握地质学的野外工作技能、物质成分分析测试技术及基本的地质科学实验和鉴定技术,具备从事构造地质、岩石矿物、地层与古生物学方面的基础理论研究、应用研究、分析实验、数据处理等工作的基本能力,具有一定的人文科学和管理科学的知识及能力。

2.具有计算机软、硬件的基础知识,掌握一门以上计算机语言的编程技术。能熟练将计算机文字、图形、数据等进行处理并应用于构造地质、岩石矿物、地层与古生物学研究。

3.掌握一门外语,具备听、说、读、写及对外交流的能力。

毕业生应获得以下几个方面的知识和能力

1.具有较坚实的数、理、化、外语、计算机基础。

2.掌握地质学的基本理论、技能和工作方法。

3.具有从事构造地质、岩石矿物、地层与古生物等方面的研究能力。

4.具有从事灾害地质、工程地质、环境地质、地球化学、资源开发等方面的潜在能力。

5.具有对地学及相关信息处理、成果解释和应用的基本能力。

6.具有良好的科学素养、心理素质、综合能力及一定的组织管理能力。

主干学科:地球动力科学、地球物质科学、地球历史科学。

专业核心课程:普通地质学、结晶学及矿物学、古生物学、地史学、构造地质学、地球化学、固体地球物理学概论、矿床学、矿石学、地貌学第四纪地质学。

主要专业实验:晶体光学与矿物鉴定、岩石薄片鉴定、古生物鉴定、构造分析。

主要实践性教学环节:地质认识实习、地质教学实习、综合地质实习、毕业实习、毕业论文。

修业年限:四年。

授予学位:理学学士。

Education 0bjective:The program trains advanced professionals in geology who have great potentials to do research in their future career.Our students should not only have a solid foundation in geology,but also have sound development in moral,intellectual and physical excellence.Furthermore, they will master mathematics,physics and foreign languages,with ability of innovation and team working.More than 80%of our graduates will continue their study for a master's degree or a doctor's degree.After four years'study,the students will have the ability to pursue a position of teaching and/or doing research of geosciences in institutions of higher learning or research institutes.They can be engaged in related work such as resources exploration,environment surveying,geo-disaster prevention, national land planning and so on.

Graduation Requirements

1.Master the basic theories of mathematics,physics,chemistry,earth sciences and environment science.Master the skills of doing field work,scientific experiments,analysis and testing,and geological identification.Have the abilities to do fundamental theoretical researches,design and carry out experiments,analyze data and write research reports on tectonics,petrology,mineralogy,and paleontology.Be cultivated in liberal arts and management.

2.Master computer skills and apply them to geology.

3.Master a foreign language with proficiency in listening,speaking,reading and writing.

Graduate Qualifications

1.Master fundamental knowledge of mathematics,physics,chemistry,English,computer science, and etc.

2.Master the fundamental theories and technologies in geology.

3.Have the ability to do research in tectonics,petrology and mineralogy,and paleontology.

4.Have the potential to be engaged in geo-hazard prevention,geological engineering,geochemistry,mineral exploration and resources exploration.

5.Have the ability to collect,process,and interpret data in earth sciences.

6.Have profound scientific knowledge and stay physically and mentally healthy.

Lab Experiments:Crystal Optics and Mineral Identification,Petrology Identification,Fossil Identification,Tectonic Analysis.
