2300位宁波市民,6天内为青海患病女教师罗南英捐出60万元。他们是一群充满爱心的无名氏,而无数个这样的群体,构成了真正意义上的“人民”。这2300名宁波市民被集体评为2005年度“浙江骄傲——最具影响力人物”,同时获得了最有分量的单项奖“最具感动奖”。

2300 citizens in Ningbo donated 600 000 RMB within 6 days to a female teacher diagnosed with leukemia in Qinghai.There are so many anonymous people showing the true meaning of“People”.The whole group of those 2300 Ningbo citizens was rated as“The Pride of Zhejiang—The Most Influential People”and they are also the recipients of the most significant single award“The Most Moving Prize”.

2005年3月,青海乐都高店乡29岁的语文教师罗南英被诊断为白血病。她经人介绍来到宁波市第一医院治疗,虽然姐姐可以为她提供骨髓供体,但60万元的医疗费用难住了她。她决定放弃治疗,忍着肉体和精神的双重折磨开始给3岁的儿子写信。她希望儿子在每个生日都能看到母亲生前预留给他的信。她要给幼小的儿子留下一点什么,让他长大后知道母亲对他最真实的情感,感受到母亲对他深深的爱。同时,她也希望这些信能为儿子在今后生活的每一个关键时刻都带来温暖和力量。信在《宁波晚报》发表后,她对儿子的深沉母爱打动了宁波市民。2300名宁波市民在一周内为她捐款60万元,400多位市民冒着酷暑到医院看望她。这些人中,既有捐5万元的成年人,也有将身上仅有的1元钱捐出的孩子。在厚厚的捐款记录本上,留下的捐款人大多是“某小姐”“免姓名”,匿名捐款人数占了80%,善良的宁波人民都不愿透露自己的姓氏。

在为罗南英捐款的日子里,宁波有无数的妈妈、父亲和孩子为她奔走,发生了许多动人的故事。他们为罗南英那种深深的母爱而落泪,想要千方百计地挽救她的生命。不仅是为一个儿子留住母亲,为一个丈夫留住妻子,为两位老人留住女儿,为学子留住他们的老师,更是要让我们一起来见证爱心的力量。此事经新华社、《人民日报》、中央人民广播电台、中央电视台及各地一百多家媒体报道后,宁波,这座以商业传统而闻名的城市,今天,以爱心而闻名国内。全国各地的读者还给宁波起了另外一个称呼——“爱心城市”。

Luo Nanying,a teacher teaching Chinese living in Gaodian of Qinghai,was diagnosed with leukemia in March of 2005.She was recommended to get treatment in the First Hospital in Ningbo.Though her elder sister can provide matched bone marrow,the cost of six hundred thousand yuan embarrassed her.She made a decision to give up treatment and started to write letters to her 3-year-old son,enduring both physical and mental pain.She hoped that her son would read letters she has written in advance.She wanted to leave something for her son,letting him know his mother’s af fection and sense a deep motherly love when he grows up.Also,she hoped that these letters could bring warm and strength for her son in every important moment in his future life.The citizens in Ningbo were deeply touched when they read the letters published on newspaper.2300 citizens in Ningbo donated six hundred thousand yuan to the diseased female teacher within six days,and more than 400 citizens visited her under burning sun.Some of them were adults donating 50000 yuan,and some were children donating the only 1 yuan in their pockets.In the donation list,most of names were like“Miss XXX”,“No Name”,and so on.These kind of citizens were all unwilling to reveal their names,and the percentage of anonymous people was about eighty percent.

In the process of donating money for Luo Nanying,a lot of mothers,fathers and kids were busy for her,thus a lot touching stories were enacted.They were moved by Luo Nanying’s deep motherly love.They aimed to make every endeavor to save her life,not only for Luo Nanying’s son,husband,parents,and students,but also for witnessing the strength of love together.Ningbo was reputable across the country after this story was reported by Xinhua News Agency,People’s Daily,China National Radio,CCTV and others more than one hundred local media.Readers around the country all called Ningbo“the City of Love”.

It is our traditional virtue to dedicate love and light up hope for those in trouble.It is the greatest happiness and pleasure in one’s life to help others to solve out difficulties and relieve their pains.Nowadays,even with the reform and opening up and the rapid development of economy,we still need to call for the spirit of dedication and kindness.One of the most important symbols of modernization is not the profusion of material,but the noble spirit and the whole improvement on the overall moral quality of the citizens.The expansive loving heart will make a city more harmonious,bright and lovingly warm.Ningbo citizens’story would benefit Chinese people by increasing their sense of love,inspiring their stimulation of love,and enhancing their ability of loving.Furthermore,these can help to resolve antagonisms,bridge the gap,decrease conflicts,and increase the sense of happiness,so as to bring harmony to the whole society.
