Course Description

Designed for the Grade-3 students of Architecture in Nanjing University,this course introduces the basic concepts and basic principles in architectural thermal engineering,architectural optics and architectural acoustics,so that the students can master the basic methods for the assessment of building’s thermal environment,sound environment and light environment as well as the related national standards. After graduation,the students will be able to read the related books regarding these aspects,and have the ability to complete certain building energy efficiency designs with the help of the related digital techniques and methods.

Course Objectives

1.Understand the basic concepts and basic principles in architectural thermal engineering,architectural optics and architectural acoustics;2.Master the quality assessment methods of building’s thermal environment,sound environment and light environment;3.Understand and master the application of computer analog technique in building energy efficiency.4.Understand the basic principles and theories of building energy efficiency design and comprehensively use them in the design.
