Let me first extend my （2） ______ to our generous （3） ______ who provides me an opportunity to （4） ______ with you a （5） ______ ______ ______ ______. When I first visited China 23 years ago together with numbers of scholars from ASEAN, it did not （6） ______ to my mind that China would have （7） ______ ______ ______ supremacy in only 2 decades after the reform of 1978, but it is there now. And I did not （8） ______ ______ ______ ______ that we will （9） ______ today to celebrate the （10） ______ ______ ______ blocks of free trade in goods and services between China and ASEAN. And I think I am very lucky to be a witness of this great development.

Back in 1998, the （1） ______ ______ between China and Indonesia was in Indonesia's （2） ______, or Indonesia had surplus vis-à-vis China. It has reversed （3） ______ ______ in the last 10 years. In 2008 China exported 20 percent more than it imported from Indonesia in value terms. In products that are likely to continue to serve as the main source of world trade （4） ______ in the future, the imbalance is even much more （5） ______. China exported in 2008 to Indonesia more than double of its import in （6） ______, almost 4 times in basic manufactures, more than 3 times in transportation and telecommunication machinery and equipment, and even almost 7 times in miscellaneous manufactured products. Some critical views have been voiced based on the statistical numbers, even though in my view the numbers do not （7） ______ ______ ______ to be alarmed. Some （8） ______ of business in Indonesia have in fact raised a demand for a delay in the enforcement of some of the commitments under CAFTA and for special （9） ______ that would help protect domestic production from being outcompeted by products of China's （10） ______.

Just a few minutes ago, we witnessed the celebration ceremony for the （1） ______ of CAFTA. It has been cited widely and for quite sometime that the （2） ______ of Chinese and ASEAN economies will （3） ______ ______ ______ to the people of ASEAN and China. （4） ______ ______ a share market of （5） ______ 1.9 billion people, the （6） ______ of our combined markets speaks by itself that this is really a huge market in the region and therefore we should be able to （7） ______ on it. However, I strongly believe that our FTA is not （8） ______ ______ ______ ______ because it should not. A FTA should （9） ______ ______ ______ ______ in enhancing （10） ______ ______ ______ of benefits to our society.
