上述构建的高职教育第三方质量评价机构认定标准体系还只是个基本框架，要投入实践使用。首先，应对评价考察点做进一步具体化，根据情况进一步拓展，列出详细的评价细则；其次，体系中列出的评价指标与分值，可根据院校实际及其发展阶段进行调整、增删。
该评价体系适合于已运行并有院校评价经历的第三方机构，因为指标中有机构运行与机构成效这两块领域。对粗具雏形且拟投入运行的第三方机构，可选择机构设置及机构运行中的部分指标进行评定。对第三方机构可进行定期评价，每三到五年进行一次。
作为一个独立、专业的评价机构，不仅应关注静态的机构设置，更应看重其动态运行，其中自主决策、专业权威及客观公正尤为重要，评价者应把握机构运行的核心精神与内在机理，深刻准确地予以判断。
对第三方机构进行认定评价，应发挥其导向功能，即通过认定，引导第三方机构朝向认定者希望的方向与状态发展。引导第三方机构正确开展院校质量评价是认定的重要项目。为此，评价者必须对教育质量及其产生在理论与实践上有深刻的把握与正确的理解，将其融入评价细则中，引导第三方机构正确开展院校质量评价。
