宁波，简称甬，地处我国海岸线中段，经济繁荣的长江三角洲南翼。宁波位于东经120°55′至122°16′，北纬28°51′至30°33′。东有舟山群岛为天然屏障，北濒杭州湾，西接绍兴市，南临台州市。
Ningbo，also called “Yong”for short，is located in the middle of the coastal line of the Chinese Mainland and in the South of the Yangtze River Delta，which enjoys the most developed economy in China (120°55′-122°16′E and 28°51′-30°33′N).To the east of Ningbo is the Zhoushan Archipelago，as a natural bulwark；to the north，hangzhou Bay；to the west，Shaoxing City and to the south，Taizhou City.

宁波市有象山和宁海2个县，余姚、慈溪市和奉化市3个县级市，海曙、江东、江北、镇海、北仑和鄞州6个城区。占地面积9365平方千米，人口556.7万。其中城市面积是2560平方千米，有居民213.4万。
Under the jurisdiction of Ningbo Municipality，there are 2counties of Xiangshan and Ninghai，3county-level cities of Yuyao，Cixi and Fenghua，and 6urban districts of haishu，Jiangdong，Jiangbei，Zhenhai，Beilun and Yinzhou.It covers an area of 9，365km2and has a population of 5.567million，among which 2，560km2are urban area with 2.134million residents.
