At 5pm every day，Jane begins her shift at a restaurant in downtown Nanning.
she’s a performer from the Philippines and has been doing this in China since the year 2000. This kind of entertainment at restaurants has become quite common in recent years...

Jane said she may be among the first ones to introduce such kind of performance at restaurants in south China. 15 years ago it was quite rare and the manager of the restaurant happened to see her dance in the Philippines and was impressed by that. Then Jane and her team were invited to work in China.
She says she enjoys interacting with the customers and，in return，the restaurant is attracting more and more clientele....

I think Nanning people are really nice. It’s kind of strange but every time I go home I miss it more here. Because half of my life I had been living here，I get used to the life here.
Jane said her nephew is now looking to join her in Nanning. And as relations between China and the ASEAN community strengthen，she said she hoped it would become easier for people like her to find work opportunities in South China.
