Now we enter the Showroom of Stone Sculptures.

This showroom was built in 1963.It houses more than 70 stone sculptures which were originally collected from different parts of Shaanxi Province. These pieces of art are classified into two groups:mausoleum carvings and religious carvings. They are arranged in chronological order.

Stone sculptures are a gem of the nation's excellent cultural heritage.Condensed in them is the intelligence and painstaking work of the Chinese people, displaying in full great achievements in the art of carving during China's ancient times. They are therefore fine pieces of Chinese cultural legacy and an important component of ancient Chinese culture.Shaanxi is one of the places where many of the nation's early stone sculptures and historical relics have been found. The province is particularly renowned at home and abroad for its large number of superb stone sculptures. They occupy a prominent position in the nation's sculptural history.

Be Care of My Grapes

A tourist was traveling in Australia and he was boasting of the fruits in his own country.

“As for oranges,in my own country, they look like a football.Speaking of bananas, well, the bananas will be taken for towers...”

When he was enjoying himself boasting,he unfortunately fell down onto the ground which was full of watermelons and at the same time the farmer said to him,“Be care not to step on my grapes.”
