写英语求职信时也应注重修辞手法的运用

用英语写求职信其本身就是一个向招聘单位展示自己英语水平，尤其是写作水平的极好机会。为此，求职者不妨运用英语中的一些修辞手法点缀其中，增加求职信的表现力和感染力。以便给用人单位留下深刻印象、促成面试、并最终获得自己的理想职业。

以下是一名硕士研究生写的一封求职信:

Dear Sir or Madam:

I'm writing to you in response to the position of a translator you advertised in a local newspaper dated on November 25. I'm presently a student majoring in translation＆interpretation in School of Foreign Languages and Literatures，Beijing Normal University(BNU)，and I'll graduate in early July next year. Please accept this letter as an application for employment with the Three Stars Translation Company.

第一个段落通常是写信原由。告诉招聘单位自己获得招聘信息的渠道，如:招聘广告、他人介绍等，如果对招聘广告内容不太确切，还可以毛遂自荐;同时表达自己准备应聘的具体职位。

I have a good educational background. I have studied in BNU for more than 6 years. 本段落在用简明妥帖、措辞得当的语言介绍自己“强项”的同时，还有意识地运用了若干修辞手法。①这是一句含有平行结构的句子。这种修辞手法是把两个或两个以上结构相同、意义相关的词、短语或句子并列使用，其特点是语言精炼、严谨整齐、节奏明快流畅，说服力强。读后给人留下的印象是:该求职者虚心好学，知识广博。②反复修辞格的功能之一就是通过刻意地重复使用相同词语，以到达强调的目的。该句中的enthusiasm共出现了两次，强调了求职者将会用自己的“热情”来弥补工作经验的不足。此句话中还出现了仿拟修辞。该辞格是指首先选择一句脍炙人口的俗语、谚语、名言或警句等，然后改动其中部分词语，从而表达一种全新的思想。很显然，enthusiasm makes perfect是仿拟Practice makes perfect而来的。读后让人感到，该求职者会用自己的热情把工作做得尽善尽美。for so many years，I really have limited work experience. But in order to become a qualified employee upon graduation，I have been involved in several part-time jobs that have shown my potential.
