【摘要】:传播理论的亚洲中心性之现代意义本书最后部分是传播理论的亚洲中心性之现代意义。这一部分的主题可以说是本人所编译的《传播理论的亚洲视维》和《欧美传播与非欧美传播中心的建立》两书的最直接的承继发展。传媒理论的亚洲研究学派在国际上影响日益深广。

传播理论的亚洲中心性之现代意义

本书最后部分是传播理论的亚洲中心性之现代意义。这一部分的主题可以说是本人所编译的《传播理论的亚洲视维》和《欧美传播与非欧美传播中心的建立》两书的最直接的承继发展。两书出版后得到了有关学界的重视,浙江大学传播研究所曾围绕中心问题举办过几次博士论坛,引发了一批年轻学子的进一步思考探索。我们的学术刊物China Media Research今年7月期内又特邀陈国明教授和三池贤孝教授主持了一个专辑,辑录了数篇更深层次探讨传播的亚洲中心问题的发人思索的精彩专题论文,这些论文是由来自尼泊尔、日本、斯里兰卡、印度的有影响力的学者们写成的,可惜本书还来不及收录。传媒理论的亚洲研究学派在国际上影响日益深广。本部分仅收录了浙江大学李东晓博士的《人类传播理论的亚洲范式及其建构——评J.Z.爱门森(赵晶晶)教授译著枙传播理论的亚洲视维枛》(Li,2009)及美国夏威夷大学的三池贤孝教授的《剖析传播学术中的“欧洲中心主义”:亚洲中心性在理论及研究去西方化过程中的作用》(Miike,2010)两文。笔者相信有心的读者们对此研究的方向已经比较熟悉,故将此两文的精粹之处,留飨读者们自己,此处不再赘言。本编译者唯一想借此前言再强调一下的是:西方的先行学者们已经在倾听并关注亚洲学派在国际论坛上的大声疾呼,前面的著名学者访谈和所选西方学者的论作中无不证实了这一点。对传播学中的西方绝对压倒之势和以偏概全显然需要纠正,但无论是非洲中心主义、亚洲中心主义、欧洲中心主义还是其他种类的中心主义,都有可能妨碍国际对话,造成文化隔阂,这样的结局也非国际上的亚洲学派的智者们之所愿。而编译者在上一书前言中已经指出过,特在此进一步地强调:中国如何在全球化与多元化的辩证大历史背景中,谦虚谨慎、不骄不躁地面对机遇和挑战?在传播的中心建立问题上,既需要在强化中心中努力起到中坚作用,也需要在超越中心的进程中大国风范、虚怀若谷(Edmondson,2009)。“和谐”是中华民族的理想境界,中心只能是一种手段,而不能是一种目的,从对立走向共荣才是人间正道——毕竟中心形态已经成为昨日之追求和荣耀了。

Abstract:The present essay is a preface to the book“He Shi Sheng Wu”:Chinese Traditional Conceptions and Ideals in Current International Communication Research,which book includes papers that have been selected,edited,and largely translated by the author.In this preface,the author briefly introduces the overall structure of the book,and evaluates the papers as divided into five sections:1.communicating harmoniously,and the dis

semination of the Chinese ideal of“harmony”;2.from Chinese traditional philosophy to international communication theory;3.modern interdisciplinary communication theory;4.dialogs with internationally well known scholars;5.the modern significance of Asiacentric communication theory.
