三、识别隐形主语
有时，汉语中的主语好像“暗藏”在某处，译者必须用心识别，才能确定主语。如果找错了，就会出现中式英语。以下例句就不易找到主语。
例1:这个地区局势不稳，根源是有外国驻军。
·The cause of the instability in this region is the foreign military presence.
·The presence of foreign troops in the area is the cause of its instability.
例2:李老师这么一个老实人，怎么会冲你发火?
How could a good-natured man like Mr.Li have shouted at you?
例3:他心情一好，便什么都好。
When he is in a good humor，he finds everything agreeable.
例4:你越是觉得没问题，就越是有问题。
Problems will always occur when they are least expected.
例5:应聘人员，应该择优录取，不应该靠关系。
Selections of employees should be made on a competitive basis，not on connections.
例6:房间里放三张床挤了一点吧?
·With three beds，the room will be very cramped，won't it?
·Do you think the room is a bit too small for three beds?
例7:人和动物不一样，人能说话，动物不能。
One of the differences between humans and animals is that humans are capable of speech，but animals are not.
