西泠印社是中华民族文化的“瑰宝”之一，它以“研究印学、保存金石、兼及书画”为宗旨。在成立近百年的风雨历程中，西泠印社集聚了以吴昌硕、李叔同、丰子恺、黄宾虹、马衡、张宗祥、马一浮、潘天寿、傅抱石、沙孟海、赵朴初等为代表的金石书画界著名的学者、艺术家、理论家和收藏鉴赏家，在印学书画领域取得了卓越的成就，享誉海内外。

Xiling Academy of Traditional Arts is a treasure of Chinese traditional culture.During its hundred-year-old history，many reputable scholars，artists，theorists and collection connoisseurs congregated together pursuing the goal of “studying print and preserving inscriptions as well as painting and calligraphy”.Their long-term efforts acquired great achievements and worldwide reputation.Among these masters，there are gurus of the inscriptions，painting and calligraphy circle，such as Wu Changshuo，Li Shutong，Feng Zikai，huang Binghong，Ma heng，Zhang Zongxiang，Ma Yifu，pan Tianshou，Fu Baoshi，Sha Menghai and Zhao puchu.

中国印学博物馆是目前国内唯一展示我国印学、篆刻艺术的专业博物馆，于1999年9月26日对外开放。该馆以西泠印社孤山社址为基础，摩崖石刻、楹联碑文、印人塑像、泉池石塔遍布其中，相互协调的布局，使之成为国家级园林博物馆。

China printing Study Museum，opened on September 26th，1999，is the unique professional museum revealing Chinese printing and the art of seal cutting in the country.Centered in the Solitary hill site，it is surrounded by cliff stone inscriptions，epigraphs of couplet hung on the columns of halls，statues of printing masters，fountain pools and stone pagodas.harmonious layouts make it a famous garden museum in the country.

全馆设有玺印厅、流派印馆、书画厅、印学厅、印材厅、印泥制作中心、社史厅、吴昌硕纪念馆等八个展馆和篆刻艺术创作室。博物馆近千件实物以完整的序列向观众展示了我国印章和印学形成、发展的历史。

There are totally eight exhibition halls and seal engraving art producing rooms，named as the seal hall，genre print hall，painting and calligraphy hall，print study hall，print material hall，inkpad production center，fellowship history hall and the Wu Changshuo Memorial.Some thousand practicalities bring forth the formation and development of Chinese seal and print study in complete serial order.

中国印学博物馆以其特有的展品、良好的文化氛围和幽雅的环境吸引了众多中外游客，被书法、篆刻家们所关注。同时，也为艺术家们提供了交流、切磋的场所。
