形态：小型涉禽，体长12-17cm。夏羽上体灰黄褐色，头顶至后颈有黑褐色纵纹。背和肩羽有黑褐色中心斑和栗红色羽缘及淡灰色尖端。眉纹白色，颊至胸黄褐色具黑褐色纵纹，其余下体白色，外侧尾羽纯白色。冬羽上体淡灰褐色具黑色羽轴纹。胸淡灰色，其余下体白色。飞翔时翼上有明显的白带。
虹膜褐色；嘴黑色；脚黄绿色。
分布：中国各省均有分布。在保护区属不常见的旅鸟。
习性：栖息于沿海和内陆湖泊、河流、沼泽等地，喜沿海滩涂及沼泽地带。受惊时能垂直起飞升空。主要以昆虫、蠕虫、甲壳类等小型无脊椎动物为食。

HH: Frequents coastal and inland lakes， rivers and marshes， in coastal mudflats and marshes.Flies off fast and high when flushed.Feeds mainly on small invertebrates such as insects，worms and beetles.
