《湖北湿地》是湖北省第一部全面系统介绍湖北湿地的研究专著。本书以近几年来通过各项湿地调查研究获得的资料为基础，全面系统地阐述了湖北湿地的基本概况、主要类型、地理分布面积与规律、形成与演变及其特点等；深入细致地研究了湖北湿地植物资源与湿地动物资源，包括种类组成、区系特点、湿地植被、珍稀濒危动植物资源等；详细介绍了全省的重点湿地及湿地自然保护区概况，对主要保护对象与保护现状进行了细致描述；客观分析了全省的湿地资源利用现状和保护管理现状，并提出了科学的保护对策和合理化建议等。该书结合湖北湿地资源特点，还对泥炭藓群落、水杉群落、珍稀水生动物资源、江汉湖群动态变化、河流湿地和国家重点保护水禽资源等相关专题进行了研究和总结。同时，在附录中列出了“湖北湿地名录”、“湖北湿地高等植物名录”、“湖北湿地动物名录”，并在多年同步调查的基础上，用计算机软件绘制了、“湖北湿地类型分布图”和“湖北湿地保护区网络成员分布图”。

Brief Introduction
Based on the most recent information on the wetland resources of Hubei province，Wetlands in Hubei is the first systematic and comprehensive academic monograph.The author described in full scale on the general condition，main types，geological distribution and formation，transformation and distinct characteristics of Hubei＇s wetlands；The author also thoroughly studies the wetland resources of mammals and plants of the province，which include the composition of species，biogeography，vegetation distribution，endangered and rare species etc.，the author also described the general condition and main conservation objectives of the important wetland and reserves and provided conservation countermeasures.Besides，Cases studies on the Sphagnum community，the Metasequoia community，the rare aquatic mammals，evolvement dynamic of Jianghan lakes group，Hubei＇s Rivers and national protected water birds.The author also offers“List of the Wetlands in Hubei”，“List of Wetland Vascular Plants in Hubei”，“List of the Mammals in Hubei”in the Appendix.Moreover，some valuable maps are provided，such as：the Distribution Map of Wetland Type in Hubei，the Distribution Map of the Wetland Reserve Network in Hubei.
