专业培养目标:本专业培养适应社会主义市场经济需要的德智体全面发展的地质学高级专门人才。毕业生具有较全面的地质学基础理论、坚实的数理化基础,较好的计算机与外语实用技能,较强的创新意识和科学素养。毕业生能成为地矿生产单位、科研机构、高等院校等开展区域地质、矿产和环境调查及基础地质研究的专门人才,适用于21世纪国家在基础地质调查、矿产资源勘查、国土规划、环境调查和灾害防治等国民经济领域以及地球系统科学的学科发展所需的地学人才。

专业毕业要求

1.本专业毕业生将在牢固掌握数学、物理学、化学、测量学、计算机科学和外语等基础上,系统地学习区域地质调查、矿产资源调查和环境保护等地球科学的基础理论及知识,熟练掌握区域地质调查、矿产资源调查和地质学研究的野外工作技能、矿物岩石及古生物鉴定技术,了解地球化学分析测试技术,具备从事区域地质调查、矿产资源调查和环境保护领域的专业能力,也具备从事构造地质学、矿物岩石学、地层与古生物学等基础理论研究和应用研究的专业能力,并具有一定的人文科学和管理科学的背景知识和专业能力。

2.具有计算机软、硬件的基础知识,掌握一门以上计算机语言的编程技术。能够熟练地开展计算机文字、图形、数据等处理,并应用于区域地质调查、矿产资源调查、环境调查,以及构造地质、岩矿分析、地层与古生物等研究中。

3.掌握一门外语,具备听、说、读、写和对外交流的基本能力,达到能独立获取国际信息的水平。

毕业生应获得以下几个方面的知识和能力

1.具有较坚实的数、理、化、外语、计算机的基础。

2.掌握地质学的基本理论、基本知识、基本野外工作技能和工作方法。

3.熟练掌握区域地质调查和资源调查的技能,具有从事构造地质、岩石矿物、地层与古生物等方面的研究能力。

4.具有从事找矿勘探、灾害地质、工程地质、环境地质、地球化学、国土规划和开发方面的潜在能力。

5.具有对地学相关信息处理、成果解释和应用的初步能力。

6.具有良好的科学素养、心理素质、综合能力及一定的管理能力。

主干学科:构造地质学、矿物学与岩石学、古生物学与地史学、数字地质调查、矿产综合勘查技术等。

专业核心课程:测量学、普通地质学、结晶学及矿物学、晶体光学及光性矿物学、岩石学、古生物学、地史学、构造地质学、地球化学、数字地质调查、矿产综合勘查技术、勘查地球物理、矿床学、环境地质学和工程地质学等。

主要专业实验:晶体光学与矿物鉴定、岩石薄片鉴定、古生物鉴定、构造分析。

主要实践性教学环节:地质认识实习、地质教学实习、专业教学实习、计算机程序设计、区域地质和找矿生产实习、毕业论文。

修业年限:四年。

授予学位:理学学士。

Education 0bjective:The program trains advanced professionals in geology who have great potential to do in-depth research in their future career.Our graduates should not only have a solid foundation in geology,but also have all-around development of moral,intellectual and physical excellence. Furthermore,our graduates are competent with their mastery of relevant expertise including skills of computer techniques and foreign languages,innovative with high science literacy,and very good at team working.The program prepares our students for employment in regional geological investigation,research and teaching in geological survey-related companies,institutions of geosciences or institutions of higher learning and employment in a wide range of geologically-related industries such as resources exploration,environment surveying,geo-disaster prevention,national land planning and other relevant businesses.

Graduation Requirements

1.To master the basic theories of mathematics,physics,chemistry,Surveying,Earth sciences and environmental science.To master the skills on regional geological survey,identification of minerals, rock and fossil,chemical composition analysis and be able to do simple experiments of earth sciences and field works.To be cultivated in liberal arts and management.

2.To master computer skills including a good understanding of both hardware and software,to master data processing by computers and its applications to geochemistry and environmental geochemistry.To master at least one advanced computer language.

3.To master a foreign language with proficiency in terms of listening,speaking,reading and writing to ensure a fluent communication.

Graduate Qualifications

1.To master the fundamental knowledge and theories of mathematics,physics,chemistry,English,computer,and etc.

2.To master the fundamental knowledge,theories and technologies in geology.

3.To have the skills to do regional geological survey,and researches in tectonics,petrology,mineralogy,paleontology,and history geology.

4.To acquire the potential to be engaged in the industries of geo-hazards prevention,geological engineering,geochemistry,mineral exploration and resources development.

5.To master the method of collecting,processing,interpreting and application of data in Earth sciences.

6.To be cultivated with good overall qualities including a profound knowledge of the relevant laws associated with industries of resources and environment,being good at team working and leadership as well,and to be physically and mentally healthy.

Major Disciplines:Tectonics,Petrology,Mineralogy,Paleontology and History Geology,Digital Geo-logy Survey,Comprehensive Exploration Techniques of Mineral Resource.

Main Courses:Surveying,Physical Geology,Crystallography and Mineralogy,Crystal Optics and Optical,Mineralogy,Petrology,Tectonics,Paleontology,Historical Geology,Geochemistry,Digital Geology Survey,Comprehensive Exploration Techniques of Mineral Resources,Geophysics,Metal De-posits,Environmental Geology,Engineering Geology.

Lab Experiments:Crystal optics and Mineral Identification,Petrology Identification,Fossil Identification,Tectonic Analysis.
