一、比较和对比
（1）用“as…as”和“not so（as）…as”结构表示人物或事物之间相等比较和人物或事物之间不相等比较这类概念。
[例题] Jeff is as tall as his brother.
[例题] Skating is still not popular as skiing.
（2）用“more（…）+than”结构表示“比……更……一些”这类概念（这里more表示形容词或副词的比较级）。
[例题] Our English class has more tests than it used to be.
[例题] Tigers are fiercer than wolves.
（3）用“the more…the more…”结构表示“越是……就越……”。
[例题] The more they talked about it,the less they liked the plan.
[例题] Woman：Shouldn’t we invite more friends to the party?
Man：The more the merrier.
（4）在形容词或副词的比较级前用程度副词或短语表示比较的程度。
[例题] He read novels muchless now.
[例题] Her handwriting is farbetter than yours.
[例题] I used to visit Mary a lotmore.
（5）用否定比较形式表示最高级的概念。
[例题] Nobody likes classical music more than I do.
[例题] Bob likes nothing better than to go on a hike.
（6）表示人物、事物或行为之间的对比常用的连词有：how，however，nevertheless，though，or rather，in fact，on the other hand，on the contrary，used to…，but now…等。
[例题] It seems as though we’ve known each other for a long time instead of just eight days.
