一、名词the moment，the instant，the minute充当连接词引导时间状语从句，表示“(刚)一……就……”，与as soon as相当。有时其前可用强调词very，其后应接一个关联词that，由于用得多了，后面的that可用可不用，特别是在moment之后that完全省略了

②The fourth time he escaped，he had the misfortune to be caught by a professional slave-catcher，who brought the African back to the plantation．那个非洲人第四次逃跑时，不幸被职业奴隶捕手抓住并将他带回种植园。
③The last time she has seen Mr．James，he was sitting on the brocade settee．她最后一次见到詹姆斯先生时，他就坐在这张铺有锦缎的长沙发上。
④Next time you come，you will see him．

⑤Each time(Whenever)he came to town，he would visit our college．他每次进城都要到我们学校来看看。

三、名词year，week，day，spring，summer，autumn，winter等充当连接词
例如：
①He left Europe the year World War II broke out．第二次世界大战爆发的那一年，他离开了欧洲。
②We were there the week it snowed so heavily．下大雪的那一周我们正在那里。
③I got ill the day he arrived home．他回家那天生病了。
④The first two days he stayed with me in that back room he was very peaceful．
他同我呆在后房的头两天还很安静。
⑤Alice had a baby the spring her husband went abroad．艾丽丝的丈夫出国的那年春天，她生下一个小孩。
⑥The summer Mary was fourteen her family travelled to the country as usual．玛丽14岁的那个夏天，她全家与平常一样去那个国家旅行。
此外，由名词充当连接词引导的时间状语从句，表示将来时只用一般现在时，不用现在完成时。
