白象香糕以前叫板糕,已有一百多年的历史。初时的板糕制作技术,其原料是糯米粉、白糖、桔饼、芝麻、饴糖和少量食盐。问世以后,颇受人们欢迎,畅销于市场。1931年,白象“公记”号南货店附属糕、饼工场生产的板糕在香味、质量诸方面遥遥领先,因而被命名为“公记”香糕。
