该大桥的主跨为斜拉式大桥，是20世纪创造的一种新型桥梁。总长度为36千米的六车道公路桥，使它成为了世界上最长的“跨海大桥”。
The main span of the bridge is the “cable-stayed”type of bridge which is a new type of bridges invented in the 20th century.The six-lane highway bridge with an overall length of 36km makes it the longest “ocean-crossing bridge”in the world.
大桥的中途设有供车辆休息、饮食和进行全方位服务的服务性小岛。整座小岛是一个坐落在码头的平台，这是为了不妨碍当前海湾的流程。
Mid-way of the bridge，there is a service island for cars to turn off the road for rest，food and a full-range of services.The entire island is a platform resting on piers，in order not to impede current flow in the bay.
