Beidaihe Beach(北戴河海滨)

China has a long coastline whose total length is 18，000 kilometers，and abundant beach resorts exist all along it.Among these beach resorts，the following four are particularly well-known: Beidaihe in Qinhuangdao，Hebei Province; Golden Pebble Beach in Dalian，Liaoning Province; Huiquanwan in Qingdao，Shandong Province; and The End of the Earth in Sanya，Hainan Province.Today we'll pay a visit to Beidaihe.

Beidaihe is one of the districts of Qinhuangdao city and is about300 kilometers east of Beijing.The city covers an area of70.3 square kilometers and has a population of 60，000.It is located on Bohai Bay，so the climate here is relatively com for table.With a damp monsoon climate，it has four distinct seasons，neither too hot in summer nor too cold in winter.There are only 7 days annually when the temperature is over 30 degrees centigrade.During the summer the cool sea breezes keep the average temperature 3-5 degrees lower than that of Beijing，while during the winter，with the air current from the Bohai Bay，temperatures seldom go below-12℃.Bei-daihe is famous for bird-watching and is China's first protection area for migrating birds.Some 405 different kinds of birds，or nearly 40% of all of China's existing bird species，can be seen here.Birds are superb connoisseurs of the natural environment，so their habitats also make good places for humans to vacation during holidays.Moreover，Beidaihe is one of nine famous sunrise watching spots in China.This is why Beidaihe Beach is so famous both at home and abroad.While it is suitable for all year round visits，the best time to travel to here is from May to October.

The long coastline to its south has soft sand and seawater of moderate salinity，making it an excellent place to sunbathe and swim.Many modern holiday villages and public bathing places have been established，where you can taste local snacks and delicious seafood，or ride in a speedboat.If you want to get away from the masses，a stroll on the pebbled sand will bring you close to nature.

In the central area of the scenic spot is a famous attraction called Tiger Rock Park.This rock formation is composed of several huge rocks protruding from the sea like crouching tigers.Standing on the rocks，one can feel the sea breeze pushing against your face，the waves beating the rocks，and the vast sea will make you feel refreshed and energetic.This is also a good spot for photography.

The Eagle Rock in the east is one of the most popular attractions of Beidaihe.It is a separate rock with the unique shape of an eagle perched upon it.Groups of wild doves once dwelled in the rock caves there，so it is also known as“the Dove Nest”.The Yingjiao Pavilion on the top of the peak is the best place to watch the sunrise.

Not just the beach，the beautiful environment around Beidaihe offers verdant mountains and lush vegetation.Lianfeng Mountain，whose base touches the beach，has two peaks covered by abundant green pines and cypresses.Lush vegetation，strange grottoes，secluded paths and winding bridges cover the mountain and make it unique and appealing.Looking down from Seaside Pavilion at the top of the hill，one can see the misty sea in all its majesty and feel carefree and joyous.

中国有着漫长的海岸线，全长共有1.8万千米，人们在沿岸兴建了大量的海滨避暑胜地。在众多的海滨避暑胜地中，下面的四处较之其他地方更具盛名，分别是:河北秦皇岛的北戴河、辽宁大连的金石滩、山东青岛的汇泉湾及海南三亚的天涯海角。今天我们就到北戴河一游。

北戴河是河北省秦皇岛市的一个区，位于北京以东300千米，总面积70.3平方千米，人口6万。北戴河坐落在渤海湾，气候非常宜人，受潮湿的季风气候影响，有鲜明的四季，夏无酷暑，冬无严寒，一年当中气温超过30℃的天数只有7天，夏季的平均气温要比北京低3℃～5℃，海风拂面，更觉凉风习习。受来自渤海湾的气流的影响，冬季的最低气温很少低于-12℃。北戴河是著名的观鸟地，是我国的第一个候鸟保护区，在这里我们可以看到405种鸟，占我国现存鸟类的40%。鸟类是最权威的自然环境鉴定师，所以人类选择鸟类栖息的地方去度假是最明智的选择。

北戴河南部漫长的海岸线上沙质柔软，海水盐度适中，因此这里是进行日光浴和游泳的最佳地点。在这里修建了很多现代化的度假村和公共浴场，您可以品尝风味小吃和海鲜，可以驾驶快艇出游。如果您想远离喧嚣，可以在布满小鹅卵石的沙滩上漫步，亲近大自然。

在景区的中部是著名的景点“老虎石公园”。它是由很多从海里突出来的状似群虎的礁石组成。站在礁石上，海风拂面，海浪击打着礁石，浩瀚的大海会让您感觉疲劳顿消，精力充沛。这里也是最佳的摄影地。

东部的鹰角岩也是北戴河的著名景观之一。它是一块独立的岩石，仿佛一只形状独特的老鹰蹲在上面，过去成群的野鸽子在礁石上面的岩洞里安家，所以这里也被称为“鸽子窝”。位于礁石顶端的鹰角岩是观日出的最佳地点。

北戴河不仅仅是海滩美，它周围优美的环境使得群山叠翠，植被葱郁。北戴河背靠的联峰山有两座山峰，均被郁郁葱葱的松柏所覆盖。葱郁的植被、奇特的岩洞、隐蔽的山间小径和蜿蜒的小桥遍布山中，使其独具魅力。从山顶的望海亭往下望，您可以看到水雾缭绕的壮丽的大海，顿觉心旷神怡。
